Two thieves looted nearly 4,000 new iPad minis from a John F. Kennedy Airport cargo building and authorities believe the heist may have been an inside job, according to a published report.
The bandits stole into the same cargo building that was the site of the infamous 1978 Lufthansa heist featured in "Goodfellas" shortly before midnight Monday, reports The New York Post.
They used one of the airport's forklifts to load two pallets of the mini iPads, worth about $1.5 million, into a truck, and may have stolen more had an airport worker not returned and questioned their activity, the paper reported.

LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas) - There might be a reason why no one on "Breaking Bad" gets the flu. Recent experiments with the drug methamphetamine shows that the drug acts as an inhibitor to the influenza virus.
Scientists in Taiwan were curious on how meth interacts with the influenza virus.
Using tissue samples of lung cells the scientists exposed them to different amounts of meth, and the results were surprising. Scientists found that the meth-exposed tissue samples had a reduction of the influenza virus.
The virus that was used was the H1N1 flu, or what is commonly known as "swine flu."

LOS ANGELES -- The puppeteer behind the "Sesame Street" character Elmo has taken a leave of absence from the children's television show to contest allegations, disputed by the performer and producers, that he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy, the show's production company said on Monday.
New York-based Sesame Workshop said in a statement that its own inquiry, including interviews with the now 23-year-old accuser, concluded that claims of underage sexual conduct against puppeteer Kevin Clash were unsubstantiated.
Clash, 52, the voice of Elmo for nearly three decades, acknowledged a past relationship with his accuser but said in a statement that the allegations against him were "false and defamatory."

Do Drug recalls really matter or are they just a part of the game plan?

A growing number of doctors offices and schools are bullying parents into immunizing their children or signing incriminating exemption forms. Discrimination against parents, individuals, and children who do not have immunizations due to medical concerns, religious beliefs, cultural beliefs, or for other reasons of conscious must be stopped. San Juan County residents in Washington State passed Initiative Measure No. 2012-4to ban the growth of genetically modified organisms. The initiative makes it illegal to "propagate, cultivate, raise or grow plants, animals and other organisms which have been genetically modified" in San Juan County.
The Initiative does still allow for the growth of hybrid organisms and GMOs to be grown by health care providers and researchers only, in secure and controlled environments. The Initiative effects local farmers, who were largely behind it's passing. The Initiative will not effect GMO products sold in local food stores.
Violators of the new law will be charged with a public nuisance and a fine for the first offense. A second violation will be considered a misdemeanor, and the third and subsequent violations will be a gross misdemeanor.

A rising number of elderly people face losing "almost all of their wealth" to pay for social care, after the Government admitted it was "unable to commit" to reforming the system.
In a stark assessment of the growing crisis in elderly care, a government report warns that the country may not be able to afford to fund a cap on care costs for a rapidly expanding ageing population.
The report, released this week, depicts a bleak picture of the future, with a growing number of pensioners slipping into poverty as they use up their savings to fund care and rely on friends and family for help. It lays bare the scale of the task facing ministers and will increase the pressure on David Cameron to address the issue.
An official review of the social care system published last year recommended that the Coalition should introduce a cap of ?35,000 on the maximum amount that people have to pay towards a nursing home.
